All you need is love…

Hello all!

It’s been a heck of a time since I last posted.  I’ve wanted to get on here sooner, but life has gotten in the way.  I’ve done a lot of photography in the last month or so, but a lot of it I can’t share – be it due to subject, personal desire by the subject to not be on the blog, or because it was for work, so I can’t!

But, I’ve been working on more photos from the maternity shoot I did for my cousin a while back.  She’s had the baby since then, an adorable little boy, so I’m anxious to get these to her.  I was working on them, and ended up finishing one off, that I really wanted to share, as I love, love, love it.  She wanted to do a photo of the hands in a heart pose – this is done a lot, but usually on the mom’s belly.  I took a few shots as they were trying to get their hands in position, but we then moved on.  I think it turned out much nicer this way, and I think this is fast becoming one of my favourite of the day – although there are quite a bit of them!

my first official photo shoot!

As mentioned in my post yesterday, I had my first photo shoot, and I wanted to share a few of the photos from that.

My cousin Emina and her husband, Mike, are due to have their first baby early this month – within the next week or so!  She asked if I could do an outdoor maternity shoot for her, and of course I said yes!  I’ve been wanting to do photo shoots for people for a while now, so I was very excited to get the opportunity.  Okay, I was pooping my pants leading up to it – what if I did a poor job, what if they hate the photos, what if I just don’t know what I’m doing and I mess up royally?!  Needless to say, when I got home I pulled the memory card out of the camera, tossed it at my husband and told him to be honest about just how bad they were – I’m incredibly hard on myself, and I work every day to try and build up confidence in my abilities.

We went out for several hours in the evening, and checked out my new favourite spot (read about that here) and the waterfront park.  I haven’t had a chance to look through all the photos yet (there are a ton of them!), but these are merely a few that I did get a peek at.  Emina and Mike – thanks for the wonderful opportunity to do this shoot for you.  I hope that the love and happiness you obviously feel towards each other are showcased in these photos.
