Crawford Lake Conservation Area

This weekend, the hubby and I were supposed to go to Napanee, ON, to check out a site about a 1/2 hour away, called the Dark Sky Viewing Centre (for more information, read about it here).  It’s set up for astronomers, but open to the public, and is the most southerly point in Ontario that you can be and still have a dark sky to see and photograph the stars.  I’ve been wanting to check this place out ever since we picked up the remote for the camera.  Unfortunately, Nik has been fighting off a cold all week, and it hit him last night.  So, we’re postponing that trip now for a couple of weeks, till the cold is gone, and he’s okay for standing in the dark for several hours, in the cold.  I’m very excited and can’t wait till we go!

So that I didn’t miss out on using the camera today, we went to Crawford Lake Conservation Area.  We got there around 4:30 this afternoon, so we had great light to play with, very soft and golden.  Here are some shots from the day.

One last photo to share of my husband, Nik, who was a trooper today trudging through the snow with me! Love the light on his face in this photo 🙂
